Two days running now I've had a call from someone with an Indian accent. First time, it was about British Gas asking for my meter readings. I told him I have a smart meter and it’s not even with British Gas. Then just tonight, the same bloke rang from the same number but now said he was from Eon about a renewal. I told him no way, it’s not up until 2027! Ended up shouting at him over the phone, scammers for sure.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Indian accent pushing some card machine with like 0.1% commission, right? I told him we don’t use card machines here at all, then suddenly he’s on about some energy deals with half price offers. Proper ridiculous! So annoying how these scam calls keep flying around, and honestly, it feels like the cops just aren’t bothered to crack down on these pests.

Got a call last week from someone saying they were with Maxen Energy - checked the Google reviews afterwards and honestly, they’re terrible. Then, the same person rings again this week, this time pretending to be from a card machine company. If you call them out for being shady, they lose their temper and start shouting and being really rude. Even when you hang up, they just keep ringing back over and over. On Saturday alone, they rang us about 15 times straight. Such a nasty bloke.

It’s maddening how they just don’t quit. I blocked one number and before I knew it, another popped up ringing me within like five minutes. I’ve started recording the calls now so I can try reporting them to Ofcom, but honestly, I doubt it’ll make much difference. They’re persistent, insistent and obviously up to no good. The accents tell you everything - straight from overseas, where most of these scams seem to originate. Honestly, best thing is just to ignore the calls altogether. Don’t even waste your time picking up.
