I got a call on 18/01/2022 from someone saying they were from DATA USAGE but its a total scam. Don’t share any info, just end the call straight away. They’ll try to get you to give a code by asking for the account holder, but don’t fall for it. Just hang up, note the number, and block it.

I got a call saying it was Vodafone about my data usage, and they even used my full name when asking for me. I didn’t confirm anything and asked who they were. The person said his name was David from Vodafone and mentioned he wanted to speak to the account holder as my data use had been very high. I told him to stop and said I wasn’t interested before hanging up. I then reported the number and what happened to Vodafone, and they told me they’d report it too to help protect others from these scams.

This guy said he was from Vodafone, telling us about some new deals and offered to switch my mum’s plan. He asked for a couple of digits from her pin, which she gave him without even thinking. Then he said they were wrong, which I reckon was him trying to get other digits to figure it out. That’s when she got a bit wary and ended the call.
