Some bloke kept ringing me, total pain in the neck.

I've received a couple of calls from this lot today. Even though I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, it’s as if that doesn’t even factor into their plans. Honestly, these unsolicited rings feel like a blatant violation of my personal rights, and it’s bloody infuriating! It makes me think that perhaps we should revive some old-school penalties for such nuisances. Ah, the olden days had their charm, didn't they?

They've rang me a couple times today. I set up call blocking but it didn't help at all. What’s the use of these settings if they don’t actually block the calls? Honestly, this kinda thing should be illegal.

16/01/22. I’ve been ex-directory since I moved here over 3 decades ago. Got a call today from a woman with an Indian accent, sounded like she was in a hectic call centre or something. She asked for me by name, then went on to ask if I shopped at Tesco or Sainsburys. I just told her I don’t entertain calls like that and hung up straight away.

She asked if I was Mr "surname" and I said yes. Then she wanted to know if I did my shopping at Sainsburys or Morrisons. After that, she asked if I was the one who pays the bills in the house, which I had to get her to say again. When I asked what the call was about, she just ended the call. Total waste of time.

I received a call from Consumer Solutions who had the audacity to ask for me personally. Upon verification, they inquired if I was a shopper at Sainsbury's. Curious about how they obtained my information, I pressed them on the matter and they claimed it was from the Electoral Roll. The thing is, I haven’t been on that public register for over a decade, and my number has been on the Telephone Preference Service list for yonks. The moment I brought up the TPS, the line went dead. Quite the dodgy operation, if you ask me!

Got a call from Consumer Solutions, they knew my name right away. When I said yes, the person asked if I shop at Sainsburys. I asked where they’d got my info from, and they said the Electoral Roll. Thing is, I haven’t shown up on that list for over a decade, plus my number’s been on the TPS for ages. As soon as I brought up the TPS, the call just ended on their side.

Got a call from Consumer Solutions, they knew my name straight away. Once I said it was me, they asked if I do my shopping at Sainsburys. I wanted to know where they got my info from, and they said the Electoral Roll. Thing is, I haven't been on that public list for over a decade and my number has been on the TPS list for years. The moment I brought up the TPS, the bloke just ended the call.

Got a call from some place called Consumer Solutions, and they knew my name straight away. After I said who I was, they wanted to know if I shop at Sainsburys. I asked how they got my info, and they said it was from the Electoral Roll. Thing is, I haven't been on the public register for over ten years, plus we've been on the TPS for ages. As soon as I brought up the TPS, the caller just cut off. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

The caller never said who he was or which company he was representing. He didn’t try to sell me anything but ended the call so quickly and hung up without a proper thank you or goodbye, which made me feel a bit uneasy. Made me wonder if it was actually a genuine market research firm or not.

This number rang me a couple of times today but I just let the answerphone pick up. Didn’t leave any message so I reckon it was just one of those annoying calls. I’m already signed up with the TPS.

I got a couple of calls from this number today but didn’t pick up, just let it go to my voicemail. Nothing was said or left on the message, so I'm thinking it’s just one of those pesky nuisance calls. I’m on the TPS so it’s a bit annoying really.

Got a call from someone saying they wanted to send me a £20 voucher because I’m a regular at Sainsbury’s. They already knew my name and then asked me to give my date of birth to confirm. I wasn’t comfortable with that and decided not to share my DOB.

Got a call from a woman with a strong foreign accent who said her name was Susan Johnson (you can guess how believable that sounded). She asked if I normally shop at Tesco, Sainsbury’s or Morrisons. I said I do, without specifying which. Then she claimed she wanted to give me a £10 fuel voucher and asked if I preferred petrol or diesel. I told her neither, as we don’t even own a car! Next, she said she could take me off their call list, but only if I confirmed my name and address - she rattled off my details spot on. I was really cautious though, figured they wanted to flood me with junk mail, so I didn’t confirm or deny anything and just asked if she could stop calling altogether. Before I could remind her that I’m registered on the TPS, she hung up. Honestly, I wasn’t about to accept any vouchers anyway; there’s always some catch. This number’s definitely been blocked on our phone now. Don’t pick up if it rings you!

Got a random call at 16:58 on the 14th of November. When I picked up, must have been some sort of glitch or something because the other end just cut off. Really weird.

this afternoon i got a call from a woman with a strong asian accent, sounded like she was calling from a busy call centre. our number is ex-directory and we’re on the tps, so this was an unwanted call. it was actually the second time this week the same number has called, so i reckon they might ring again. she asked for me by name and said she wanted to do a survey about whether i shop at sainsburys. i told her nicely that where i shop is private, thanked her for her time and said i’d hang up now, which i did. annoying call, so i’ve marked it as harassment.

The person on the phone claimed it wasnt a sales call but then went on to ask if I was between 30 and 50 and if I used British Gas. I just ended the call there. Ive started hanging up straight away on these sorts of calls, its quicker that way.

Got a scratchy call from a local number asking if I’d been shopping at Sainsbury's. Told them I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list, and they just ended the call. These kinds of pointless calls are such a nuisance and really shouldn’t be disturbing us at home.

Got a call around 2:30 this afternoon from a woman with a bit of an Indian or Jamaican accent. She was pushy, kept saying she needed to ask me some questions. When I asked her the reason for the call, she just hung up on me. Such bad manners!

She started by asking for me by my first name, then quickly said she wasn’t selling anything and would keep it quick. She asked if I had gas central heating at home. I just told her making nuisance calls is against the law and ended the call straight away.

I just received a phone call, but I couldn’t quite make out what the lady on the other end was saying. She was looking for someone who wasn’t around, and then she abruptly ended the call. Quite baffling, really!

Like some folks here said, she had that clipped accent and called herself Kelly Johnson, said she wasn’t trying to sell anything. I told her I don’t do this phone stuff and she asked what I meant by that, so I just said “chat with you!” and ended the call. She totally fell for it :-))

They were asking for a Mrs something, but I couldn’t quite make out the name. Told them no one here matches that. Then they asked if this was *** Middle Pk Ave. I said no, and asked if they could share the first part of their address so there's no confusion next time. Ended up just switching my phone off.

A lady with a slight clipped accent insisted it wasn’t a sales call at all. They’ve rung me a few times this week while I was out. I kept asking her what the call was about but got no clear answer, just that it wasn’t marketing and something to do with the household. I ended up hanging up and told them to remove my number from their list as I don’t deal with these sorts of calls. Not worth picking up, honestly.

Received a call where the caller mentioned our name, clearly from a call centre given the din in the background. There was too much commotion for him to catch what we were saying. We hung up right after we just said 'yes'.
