Got a call from a guy with a very clear English accent, sounded like he was calling from a call centre. He actually knew my name and where I live. Told me I’d won a £500 voucher that’d be sent out to me in the post. Then he asked if I wanted to use it on things like double glazing or soffits. When I said I wasn’t interested in either, he kinda lost enthusiasm and ended the chat quite nicely.

They rang my old work number which is now at another office, and ended up talking to someone who didn’t know me by my surname. Then they went on to ask if she was living at my place! She said no, and I’m well annoyed they gave my private info to some random person. I tried calling them back from work but it just goes to voicemail then drops the call.

Someone rang saying they're from BT and that there was some problem with my computer connection. I figured it was a scam straight away, so I told them to jog on and slammed the phone down. Still, they keep ringing nonstop, which is really annoying...

I've had a few calls this week, three altogether and then another two just today. The caller said they were from J.W. Surrey and wanted to discuss my BT landline, which I don’t even have! Then they muttered something about my computer. When I replied, they hung up straight away, but that didn't stop another call coming through shortly after. They always mention my BT landline, J.W. Surrey is the name they give.

I got a call from someone saying they were with "Brighter Homes" and kept insisting I give my real name. I told them nicely I wasn’t interested in what they were selling and ended the call. But they kept calling back over and over - such a pain!

Usually I don’t get a lot of annoying calls since I'm on the Telephone Preference Service. But this one showed up as a missed call, so I rang back. An American voice came on saying to hold for an agent, then suddenly it just cut off. Sounds like either some kind of scam or just a waste of time to me.
