These lot are definitely scammers, sounds like they're from the UK with those south east accents. They called me asking for the bloke who had my landline before 2013, so they're clearly using some old BT list. I reckon these databases get passed around criminal groups, probably because BT shifted their admin to India ages ago and had a big data leak there. The whole scheme is to get you to hand over your bank info by promising cheaper direct debit payments for your washing machine cover, and they say they'll sort everything out on the call. Stay well clear!

Got a call the other day about insurance for a washing machine. I told the bloke I’ve never even owned one. He went on about how some folks have joint bank accounts with their partners or parents (is that even a thing?). I kept saying again I’ve never bought a washing machine. Then he reckoned there must be an error in their system and asked if I wanted to be taken off their list. I said sure, do what you need. Then he just hung up. Smells like a dodgy call to me.

No doubt about it, this is totally a scam! After you shut them down, they just keep ringing with those annoying silent calls like they've got nothing better to do. If you’ve got a call blocker handy, definitely use it. If not, just watch out for the number and don’t pick up. Fingers crossed they get fed up and stop bothering us soon!

So this bloke, Jack with a proper English tone from D&G, rings me up saying my washing machine warranty's about to run out and that I should renew it. I told him straight out I don't have any warranty on the washing machine. He said sorry, it was his first week and he must've messed up the system, suggesting maybe I have cover on some other white goods. I replied no, none at all on any of them. Then he mumbled something in a sarcastic way, using a fancy longer version of my first name (which doesn’t even fit me), and just went quiet and hung up on me. Proper odd call.
