I kept getting calls from a bloke with a British accent asking for someone called Stuart. At first, I thought it was just someone who had the wrong number. Later on, I got a text from 82402 saying it was something urgent for Stuart Smith and it had a link in it - I just ignored and deleted it.

My mate answered a call and there was this strange foreign accent on the line telling her she'd won a load of free Euro lottery tickets worth 75 million. Sounded really suspicious to me.

Some woman rang up, asked if this was Mrs (followed by my name), and when I said yes, she just ended the call straight away. Strange behaviour if you ask me.

These lottery scam calls are everywhere. Honestly, the best thing to do is report them straight to the police through Action Fraud. Just search ‘action fraud’ online, go to the police.uk site, then find the report section. From there, pick the phishing option from the dropdown. If you scroll down past the advice about scam emails, you’ll see where to file your report. It only takes a few minutes, doesn’t need you to sign up or anything. Let’s all be careful and report these scams whenever they pop up to protect ourselves and others.
