Indeed, I received a rather unpleasant phone call from them, coupled with a dreadful voicemail insisting I return their call lest I face some financial consequences. When I did ring them back, they were keen to grab my name and reference number, which I promptly declined to provide. Fingers crossed they face proper consequences for this nonsense!

I received a rather peculiar phone call on my landline earlier today from an unusual bloke who wasted no time in hurling accusations of tax evasion at me. He didn’t bother to introduce himself, but it was clear he fancied himself as some sort of HMRC representative. This is definitely a scam and I’m convinced it’s not really coming from HMRC at all.
