Got a call from a guy who said my SKY maintenance deal was about to run out. I told him I actually just signed up for a new maintenance contract with SKY when I switched to SKY Q. He didn’t want to hear it and kept going on about how if I didn’t renew, I’d have to pay a cancellation fee. I told him where to go (not polite words) and slammed the phone down. Got a call from an Asian guy at around 8.56 on January 3rd, offering some sort of Sky TV insurance deal for £199 over two years. I told him I’d already got insurance for £49 lasting three years. He started going on about covering cables and wires and all that. I told him I wasn’t interested, then he threatened to charge me for the previous year. I told him to bugger off, ended the call, and added him straight to my blocked scam list.

I requested that my landline number be removed from their records and asked them to use the alternate number Sky has on file. This chap insisted that Sky only possessed the one number, which is quite the fib! Then he proceeded to probe about whether I wished to terminate my contract that was nearing its end. When I confronted him about not having any Sky insurance for my equipment, he asserted that I was actually contributing a small monthly amount towards it, which was completely erroneous! I suggested that I’d ring Sky directly to check if any updates were necessary (which they aren’t), yet he continued to press that he was indeed calling from Sky. In the end, I simply had to hang up to escape his relentless chatter.

Honestly, if it had gone through at that hour, the person on the other end wouldn’t have been so lucky! Pretty clear this is a scam and definitely not a legit London or UK phone number. I received a rather dubious call today from a woman bearing a foreign accent, claiming to represent "Sky Assure Maintenance" on the number 02036083430. She insisted that I had supposedly authorised a payment of £144 via my debit card on 29th November 2022, which is simply not the case. The caller went on to inform me that my next premium is now due, and should I fail to pay, I would face penalties for allegedly breaching a 2-year agreement, which I categorically haven't signed. This seems entirely fabricated, including mentions of coverage for my television equipment, like my TV and box. Then, she put me through to someone she referred to as her "manager", who regurgitated the same spiel. When I asked him if he could confirm my name, he claimed that was confidential information. That was the last straw for me-I firmly told him I suspected this was a scam and promptly hung up.
