He seemed pretty genuine and polite at first, using all the right legal terms and even setting up meetings. I got tricked by him when he was selling a flat in London for a suspiciously low price. He organised tenancy contracts and everything but it turned out the place was already lived in by a couple who had nothing to do with him! The guy, calling himself Mr. Andrew Hurst, said he had a flat for rent in Portsmouth at a suspiciously low price. He gave an address that turned out to be fake and insisted we pay the deposit and first month’s rent into a lawyer’s bank account - someone called Mr. Akin George. But there’s no such lawyer registered anywhere in the UK’s law society records. All this before we even got a chance to see the place or get any keys.
