Picked up the phone and then the person just cut off the call without saying a word?

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying my Virgin broadband was hacked. They told me to get on my computer, but I told them I was already in bed and wasn’t budging. They sounded pretty annoyed. It feels unsafe since it seems unlikely they would randomly guess I use Virgin, so they might have other personal info on me. Why don’t the government or service providers do something to stop these calls? They’re a real worry.

Got a call saying it was BT or something, told them I wasn’t interested and just ended the call, then blocked the number. Seriously, why do these companies keep bothering us? Life’s busy enough and they go ringing on your mobile constantly, it’s just too much.

Got a call claiming to be from BT. I told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call, then blocked the number. Why are these companies so annoying, ringing all the time? Life’s already hectic without them pestering you on your mobile. Seriously, enough is enough.

Being an Apple Macbook user, it didn't take long for me to realise that this bloke was out to con me. He pretended to be from the Microsoft tech support team, insisting that he needed to remotely access my computer to sort out some issues. He then proceeded to ask me to install an application that would allow him to take control of my PC. Quite the cheek, really!

Some bloke called me earlier saying he was from Microsoft tech support. Seemed dodgy straight away, like one of those scams. Definitely not putting any trust in that, ignore it if you get a call like that.

Loads of times I've had this Indian woman call me, and as soon as she says goodbye, the line just cuts out. A few times she tried claiming to be from Microsoft, but when I pointed out that her number was actually from Liverpool or London, she ended up hanging up straight away.

Got a call from some scammer who tried to get me to enter a long number into my PC. Then things got creepy real quick - he already had my name and address and started going on about money laundering and my info being used for all sorts of dodgy stuff. I just stuck around on the phone to wind him up and waste his time.

Got calls from Microsoft way too early, like 7.30 in the morning! I must’ve had at least seven calls over three days, then they just stopped for about a week, then bang, started again. One of them actually called me a liar - said it straight up when I told them I don’t even own a computer! They asked where on earth it had gone. All they seem to want is for you to log on or something. Honestly, such a pain!

I got a call from this number, all I heard was silence at first, then someone said ‘hello’ real quiet, then asked if I could hear them, and suddenly the call just dropped.

TOTALLY A SCAM - They keep ringing me non stop. Every time I answer, they just start yabbering away. I’ve blocked loads of numbers but somehow they pop up with a fresh one again and again. Honestly, I wish I could rig my phone to zap them with an electric shock! But then again, what if it’s my missus on the other end? Haha, she’s just as bad at pestering me! Cheeky her, lol.
