Just like loads of people have said, I got offered 40% off from O2 too. They said they’d send me a text with a code to prove who I was if they called again. Seems dodgy to me, but I guess some folks might actually believe it. I’m surprised this number isn’t linked to anyone official - why isn’t Ofcom cracking down on this sort of thing? It’s getting a bit much.

The person on the other end just cut the call.

Got a call from someone saying I could get a 40% discount on my O2 bill, but I actually use EE. I told them straight away that I’m with EE and that it seemed dodgy, and they just said sorry and ended the call pretty sharpish.

I got some texts with codes from someone saying they were from O2, offering a 40% discount. They even told me who my phone provider was, which seemed odd. Felt a bit dodgy to me.
