Awareness and caution are essential to avoid falling prey to these fraudulent tactics.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she worked for Her Majesty and demanding I pay some overdue taxes. Turns out, it's a classic HMRC scam! These scammers pretend you owe the government money and threaten to send officers to your house within an hour if you don’t cough up over the phone. Honestly, it’s quite frightening if you don’t know about these tricks!

They've left me a few messages and when I rang back, they said they were from HMRC. I wasn’t about to give them any info and told them I’d contact HMRC through the official numbers. The person on the phone then said the police would come to arrest me, and then just hung up on me.

Just yesterday, i got a call from someone named michael carta sayin i owe 3999 and have to pay immediately or theyll arrest me with a warrant. So i decided to play along and went to the bank like i was gonna transfer the money they wanted. This number along with 0203-290-3080 keep ringing me non stop and leaving the same voicemails. Today I asked the guy to stop bothering me but he just got rude and started shouting. I could def hear other people in the background probably doing the same thing! Honestly, the way he spoke to me was just plain awful!!!

Had a robo call with a US accent from someone called ‘Sarah Wilson’ claiming to be HMRC and warning about ‘serious repercussions’ if I didn’t ring back. Obviously a scam, but the way they spoke was really intimidating, which makes it feel pretty serious, maybe even illegal. I’ve reported it straight away to Action Fraud (https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud).

Some bloke, said his name was Michael, rang me from 0203 5751355 claiming he was from HMRC. He asked for my personal info, but I didn’t give anything away. He sounded a bit miffed then started threatening me with the police and arrest before just hanging up. There’s no way he’s from London or even the UK, his accent was totally foreign. Some bloke named Chris rang me up saying I’d cheated the government. He said my passport, driving licence and bank accounts were all blocked. He even knew where I live and told me I needed a solicitor with me for court on Monday. Thing is, I’m still healing from a big operation with complications and have no income right now. When he asked for £3000 I just broke down - how on earth was I supposed to pay that? He didn’t seem to care at all.

Just got a call from these absolute muppets today! Lucky I checked the number here first. The woman had a strong foreign accent, sounded Asian. She claimed there’s a legal case against me and she was calling on behalf of HMRC, saying I owe nearly £3800 in back taxes from 2012 to 2018. I pressed her a bit, told her I regularly update HMRC every year and they know my income. Then, out of nowhere, she just hung up on me! Felt really dodgy. 02035751355 Got a scary robotic voicemail this morning, claimed to be HMRC but with a clearly American accent. It told me to ring back or have my solicitor do so. We've seen loads of these scam calls on YouTube, mostly from the States, all the same tricky scams. Sadly, they seem to fool older folks and those not so good with tech who get scared easily. Then I spoke to a bloke with an Asian accent called Michael Carter who claimed he was from HMRC at 100 Parliament Street. That address does exist, and I found Sarah Wilson listed as an employee - but it’s actually Sarah Scott-Wilson. FYI, they don’t work Sundays anyway. I’ll give them a call tomorrow to warn them there’s scammers using a fake 0300 number.

Got a call from some robot sounding Sarah Wilson who claimed to be from HMRC. It was fairly amusing, but still a bit of a pain.

Received a rather alarming voicemail from someone purporting to be Sarah Wilson from the Inland Revenue. They were quite menacing, insisting I either engage with them directly or have my solicitor handle it regarding some alleged outstanding payment. I urge you - do not return their call. This is a scam! They’ll pretend to be searching for you, but when you ask for specifics, they dodge the question and might use a completely different name, as they did when they referred to me as Alan. Just ignore them and block the number, it’s simply not worth your time!

Got a really creepy voicemail with threats. Definately best to report it to Action Fraud. I did it today, as this kind of stuff can really freak folks out and make them reply.

Received a dodgy call today. They left a rather intimidating voicemail from someone posing as Sarah Wilson from HMRC, insisting I ring back straight away. Be cautious and don’t get drawn in-this is clearly a nefarious scheme to fish for your personal information or money. I recommend reporting any such occurrences to Action Fraud.

Looks like Sarah is back at it again! She sounds just like one of those annoying robotic messages you get from those official places, even though HMRC usually sends letters before calling or anything. Classic!

I got a call from this number as well, and the person said they were from HMRC and Customs, but they sounded quite American. Totally a scam, no doubt.

Oh great, Sarah's back calling again. The first time she rang me was at like 8.15 in the morning from another number, and it really freaked me out, but I knew I wasn’t in debt or anything. Just block these callers straight away. Honestly, why aren't HMRC or the police sorting this out??

I also got a 'warning' call from this same number. I was under the impression they were cracking down on these scam calls since they can really stress people out.

There was no name given, just a automated voice threatening serious legal trouble if I didn’t ring back or if my lawyers didn’t get in touch. I’m not involved in any kind of dispute. Total nonsense and probably a scam. I decided not to call them back.

Got a robotic voice saying it was HMRC. I already heard about this sort of fraud, so I just hung up right away. It sounded really scary and pushy.

Got a call from the same number, 02035751355, which is definitely a London area code. It was some robotic American accent saying they were from HMRC and warning me about legal trouble. Bit of a scare but obviously dodgy.

My brother got a call from this number and they left a message saying he needed to ring them back straight away. He was pretty anxious and was about to phone them back. Luckily, I looked up the number first and yeah, it was total rubbish. Big thanks to everyone who warned us!

Just like everyone else here, I got an automated call with an American accent telling me to ring Sarah Wilson or else. I tried calling them back using a blocked number and ended up speaking to some bloke from India who said he was an officer from HMRC asking for my info. I told him to jog on and ended the call. Complete scammers and fraudsters, they really deserve a good dose of karma!

This morning, I got a call from someone claiming to be 'Officer Max William' from 'HMRC'. He said I had unpaid taxes and quoted some bits from an Act of Parliament, warning me about possible legal action. He actually knew my name, which made it sound legit. Then he sent me to the official HMRC website to fill in some details and gave me a reference number. They wanted me to pay £4,998, saying it would be refunded if I could 'show the mistake wasn’t mine'. It’s definitely a con, and HMRC really needs to warn people about this scam.
