A man rang me saying he was calling from DAG, telling me I had some sort of policy with them that needed renewing. He asked for £99 payment. Like some others mentioned, he already knew my name even though I’m ex-directory. Once I told him I don’t have any policy with them, he just hung up. This is worrying because it could fool more vulnerable people into handing over money, possibly way more than just £99. I’m planning to get in touch with DAG tomorrow to check if they’re connected to this scam or not.

Received a call from this number earlier, a bloke claimed he was from DAG regarding my washing machine. When I asked what brand it was, he couldn't say. I told him I don’t do extended warranties, and suddenly he starts shouting at me saying I did and I should remember what I bought. Then he just cut the call off. I definitely know what I bought since I actually sold it to myself at work nearly eight years ago. Pretty sure he was just having a rough day and I only made it worse, haha!

I got a call from someone saying they were from DAG at 5.01 pm on June 26th. The guy seemed to know loads about my washing machine insurance and was trying to sell me a “3 year loyalty” deal, sounded quite legit. He mentioned a “new customer service number” too, so I asked him to send me the details by post. When he wanted my card info, I said no way since I pay by direct debit, and told him again to just send the paperwork. He ended with “OK mate” like it was all casual. Later, I rang DAG myself and they told me it was a scam, and I gave them the number the caller used.

Got a call from some bloke in England saying he was from DAG - turns out that stands for Domestic Appliance Group. Just a heads up, DAG Domestic Appliance Group is NOT the same as D&G Domestic and General. I checked Companies House and found that DAG was actually dissolved back in 2018. They tried ringing us, asking to double check our sort code and account number. Honestly, don’t get involved with them at all.

So some guy called John from Domestic Appliance Group rang me up saying my Bosh washing machine warranty, which I apparently bought back in July 2015, has run out. They even had my name, phone number and address! The weird part? I’ve never actually bought a washing machine, I just use the launderette round the corner. Honestly, it felt kinda creepy!
