Cheers a lot! I got this final parking ticket dated 08/02/2026, which was a Sunday. When I tried calling the number, I realised it was a scam to get money for car parking. Got a parking ticket for £85 at Sainsbury’s in Deal, Kent dated 21/01/26, with a discount to £50 if you pay quickly. The letter had a phone number 02035534559, so I checked it on “who called me” and it’s marked as SCAM. Then I tried the PCN number on the official website like the letter said - nothing showed up. It told me to check on Dover district council’s site by entering my car reg and ticket number, but no record there either. Feels dodgy so I’m definitely not coughing up for this!

Got a letter from eurocarparks about a £100 fine for not showing a ticket. The phone number was on the notice, so I looked in my car and found my ticket from a few weeks back. I then went to the eurocarparks site and put in an appeal because I definitely had a valid ticket for that day. I got back to my car later than I expected and found a parking ticket waiting for me, with a photo of my car included. The fine was £70 but it said it could be knocked down to £40 (everywhere online it says you get it lowered to £30 if you pay within 14 days). Info on how to use the system set up by the police (NFIB) to make reporting ALL scam texts, calls, emails and other fraud a doddle for the public is below. I was advised to share this after moaning to my MP about the sheer amount of scam calls I was getting. Scammers definitely don’t want this info out there. If you don’t report these scams, don’t expect any action to be taken. You can report to 7726, your mobile network, Ofcom or the companies the scammers pretend to be, which helps a bit, but sometimes the details don’t get passed on to the police for proper investigation.
