Got a call from someone claiming to be Tesco, telling me my SIM was going to be shut off in 72 hours because of a switch to 5G, and they needed me to verify my details. They even sent a PIN for me to repeat back! I wasn’t having any of it and just gave a fake number. The number they gave to ring Tesco was 08000373035. So I phoned Tesco myself from a different mobile (grabbed the number from their official app) and was told there’s no plan to cancel or replace SIMs because of 5G. Apparently, it’s a scam and Tesco would never ring customers like that directly. Be careful folks!
