Received an irritating phone call from a woman who had a thick accent. She barely got through her opening line before I interrupted her, instructing her to remove my number from their records. In a rather discourteous manner, she retorted, “You haven’t even heard what it’s regarding.” To which I replied that I had no interest and simply wished to be taken off their list. Her response was quite dismissive, saying “I don’t think so,” and then the call suddenly went silent. I placed the phone down on the windowsill, and when I returned a minute later, they had already disconnected.

Unfortunately, I couldn't quite grasp what it entailed because she spoke at lightning speed! I mentioned I was pressed for time and couldn't engage with her queries. She insisted she only required a couple of minutes. I reiterated that I was on my way to see my Mum at the hospital. At that point, she got a bit bristly and snapped, "I'm just asking for a few minutes!" I had had enough, raised my voice, and then cut the call. It's absolutely outrageous that these individuals feel entitled to disturb you in the comfort of your own home!

Intriguingly, they managed to bypass my TrueCall system, so when I picked up, all I was met with was eerie silence. When my TrueCall's answering machine took the call, there was no voice message left behind. After a week of investigating by calling 1471 to trace the number, I felt compelled to report it, especially since I’m registered as ex-directory and with the Telephone Preference Service.
