I've encountered this sort of thing before with numbers that begin with 020. Lately, I've been inundated with a barrage of pestering calls from a bunch of similar digits. This one appears to be part of the same troublesome group. I picked up the phone once, but to my dismay, there was only silence on the other end.

My phone is set up to automatically mute calls from numbers I don't recognise, so those calls likely went straight to my voicemail. This particular caller obviously deemed it unnecessary to drop me a message, leaving me clueless about their identity or intent. Since I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, they really shouldn’t have even attempted to contact me. Consequently, I’ve made sure to review them here and added their number to my ever-growing list of blocked contacts. Honestly, what’s the point? They invested money in making the call and employing whoever or whatever dialled it. It begs the question: why isn't cold-calling prohibited by law yet? Everyone appears to detest it, and more often than not, we assume it's some sort of scam. It's quite disheartening that these individuals capitalise on the vulnerable, and I can’t help but feel outraged by both the technology facilitating this nonsense and the regulations that permit it.
