Good job we've got BT Call Guardian on our side. Seems like we've had about five calls this week from different numbers that look dodgy: this one, 01425 479579, 01590 622719 and 01675 463123. Funny thing is, we don’t even use Amazon Prime!

I’ve gotten a couple of calls recently claiming to be from Amazon Prime saying they’re about to take £79.99 from my account and telling me to press 1. Obviously, I didn’t do that. Then there was another one saying my monthly payment was due soon. How are these lot even getting my info? I don’t even have a Prime subscription! Now, I just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise and wait to see if they leave a voicemail. It’s a proper pain though, cause there’s loads of them, all from different area codes like 01274, 0144, and 01473.

This number kept ringing me non-stop today, like 10 times between 8.48am and 12.38pm, sometimes with barely a minute gap! I’m retired and don’t usually get up that early, thank goodness my landline isn’t in my bedroom or I’d have been telling them off proper! I’d turned off my answering machine but calls still went to my provider’s voicemail, which I’m not bothering to check. Poor dog’s been waking up all the time with the ringing too... haha! Totally a scam. Why don’t these people just get a proper job instead of trying to scam others? So lazy! Rant finished.

I just got one of those dodgy calls about my Amazon Prime running out. What’s funny is they never actually say which money they mean - they just say something like "thirty-nine ninety-nine" and leave it at that, like it could apply anywhere in the English-speaking world. I’ve had loads of calls from different numbers like this, but they all sound the same and you can spot the scam from a mile away.

This morning I had like 6 or 7 calls that barely rang before stopping. I’ve stopped picking up my landline now because of all the scam calls and silent callers I get every single day, sometimes up to ten times! Even as I’m writing this, they're ringing again. My home phone shows their number each time. Luckily, with “Who-called” I can quickly look up numbers and decide not to answer. Also, putting the volume down really helps! 😊

02035322944 rang me and I wanted to double check just who it was. The caller claimed to be from Amazon Prime and kept asking me to press 1. I never do what they say on calls like that. I don’t even have Amazon Prime, yet they insisted I owed money. I’m a bit older but know these scams when I see them. Just a heads up to others - don’t engage with these calls. Stay safe, everyone.
