Today, I got a rather alarming voice message from a machine-like voice claiming to be from HMRC, stating that I was in a spot of bother for failing to settle my taxes. They went on about legal action and even the possibility of imprisonment! I was utterly taken aback, so I promptly hung up and rang HMRC using their official contact number. They confirmed it was nothing more than a scam. What a relief that was!
