They ring up claiming they won’t take more than a minute of your time, and then they engage you in some light chit-chat, asking basic details like your name or age. The catch is, they record your responses and then call your bank, expertly using your voice to authorise fraudulent transactions. It’s no laughing matter; it happened to me. Once this came to light, my bank, Lloyds, insisted it was I who had initiated the transfer. I had to convince them otherwise, but they said they had a voice match to verify it. Thankfully, Lloyds managed to refund my £6500 promptly, but goodness, what a headache that was! The stress and anxiety it brought were considerable. In conclusion, I can only advise you to stay vigilant and avoid answering calls from unknown numbers. If it's truly important, they'll leave a voice message.

Naturally, I disputed this, but they insisted the voice matched their records. Luckily, I was reimbursed my £6,500 promptly, but not without considerable distress and a fair bit of mental anguish. So, here’s my advice: NEVER, I repeat, NEVER engage with numbers you don't recognise. If something’s really urgent, they'll likely leave you a voicemail. Stay safe, everyone!

My elderly neighbour keeps getting calls from this number but she doesn’t know who it is.

Some scam reached out tryin to offer me a free phone but they just ended the call right away.

Just like what others have mentioned, they cut the line before I had a chance to pick up.

Claimed to be “Gerry from EE promotions.” I informed him that I didn’t use their services (though I do, but I highly doubt he was genuine!). Cheers, but no thanks - swiftly blocked the number. I do feel a bit sorry for them as they’re merely trying to earn a crust, but good grief!

02035236406 has been persistently ringing our child's mobile, causing her considerable distress. It's troubling to think that they're targeting young ones in this manner. These continuous calls feel like harassment and pose a serious risk. It's absolutely unacceptable for anyone to be bombarding kids with calls like this.

I've had a right nuisance with calls from four different numbers, all claiming to give me a 40% discount on my phone bill. It's a complete scam, so don't be taken in by it!

The phone rang for a mere couple of seconds before they disconnected. From what I've read in earlier remarks, it appears to be some sort of scam. I certainly won’t be returning the call!

I received a call on my mobile from this number, even though I'm registered with TPS. When I picked up, there was silence on the other end.

The phone chimed a couple of times, so I tried ringing the number back, but I ended the call straight away upon hearing mentions of some telephone packages. Total scam!

Prior to the latest wave of con artists, I was inundated with calls inquiring if I’d been involved in an accident. I don’t engage with any of those calls, and I promptly block the numbers, but we all know they’ll just pop up with a different number the next day. It’s an endless cycle, really.

They claimed to be representatives of the 3 network and insisted they had my mobile number, which isn’t too shocking since they rang me on it. However, they then went on to request some personal information. I pointed out that they ought to have that information already if they truly worked for my provider, and that’s when the chap abruptly terminated the call. Quite shady if you ask me!

Received a call on the 25th of January around 12:58 in the afternoon. I tend to avoid answering calls like that! Remember, it's our turn to reach out, not the other way around!

I received three calls from this number today. Finally, on the fourth attempt, I picked up. The sound quality of the call centre was quite dreadful. As soon as I responded, the chap on the other end hung up without a word. It certainly feels suspicious, possibly a scam.

I can't believe they had the audacity to act as if they were three different people! The cheeky blighter drilled me with all sorts of inquiries regarding my complete name, date of birth, home address, and even my bank account info! Absolutely outrageous!

They had previously told me that I'd get a refund if this situation occurred again. When I went ahead and asked for that credit, they ended up just hanging up on me! Quite dodgy, if you ask me, and the chap I spoke to had an Indian accent. Total con job, if you ask me!

I picked up the call and, in a cheeky manner, recited our company slogan: "Cheers for ringing Daves Dildos. You imagine it, we'll create it; no size too grand, no hole too petite. If we craft it, you'll certainly enjoy it!" The person on the other end claimed to be from Three and started to contest my identity, asserting that I wasn't who I claimed to be. Then, without warning, they just cut the line.

Seems like my phone is on some scammer’s target list cause they call all the time, no matter how many numbers I block. But honestly, I really enjoy messing about and wasting their time whenever they ring.

Received a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be affiliated with 3 mobile, then referencing Phone House. When I inquired about their location, they mentioned Bradford. But when pressed, they confusingly stated London, then attempted to clarify with Newquay. At that point, it was crystal clear this was a scam. She insisted on obtaining my personal information, specifically my name, date of birth, postcode, address, full bank card details, and even the security code from the back. Naturally, I refused to share any of that information. I cheekily informed her that I could tell she was calling via a VPN from India or Pakistan. I politely suggested she might want to consider a different profession-one that doesn’t involve deceiving vulnerable folks in the UK. I wished her good fortune and a pleasant day, and even hoped she might find a way to earn an honest rupee. To my surprise, she thanked me for the chat and said she would look for legitimate work.

Don't bother picking up; just end the call.

I informed her that I would ring back through the official O2 customer service number, so she kindly provided me with her name and a reference code - 012, how original! Now, as I prepare to reach out to O2, I'm anticipating they’ll tell me this wasn’t a genuine call from them. Still, just for amusement, I might as well ask for that 40% discount since it was promised to me. Stay vigilant, everyone!

If you pick up, they’ll rope you into a subscription for updates on ‘phone package deals’. I've had enough of it-number blocked!

Someone phoned me claiming to be from O2.

Got some bloke on the phone with a strong Indian accent, could barely understand a word. They called me a few times before but just hung up each time. They kept ignoring my TPS registration. Said they were from ‘Three network’ - but I’m not even with Three! When I asked what the call was about, they just dropped the line. Proper pests, this needs to get sorted by the government!

They hung up just before I could pick up.

Got a call from an Indian man mentioning some sort of discount, but his voice was hard to make out. The number was unfamiliar, so I just ended the call and decided to block it.

I think the call came from an 02 number or something like that.

I've received two calls from this number within a mere 45 minutes. Quite perplexing, really! I'm absolutely stumped as to who could be on the other end of the line. If anyone stumbles upon this post, I strongly recommend refraining from uttering anything during the call, not even a simple "hello." There’s a rather sinister scam at play, where individuals capture your voice and then manipulate it with AI to deceive your bank into disclosing sensitive information. Better to be safe than sorry, I say!

I get calls from spam numbers at least four times a week, really annoying. Definitely don’t answer them!

This number said it was O2 but you can tell it’s just some call centre probably from India. When they started with “Good morning madam, how are you, I’m calling from O2,” I cut them off straight away with “Thanks but I know this is a scam” and then just ended the call and blocked them.
