2 yearsOver the past couple of days, I’ve been receiving calls from London, but from at least five separate numbers. After googling them by copying and pasting, I found out they were all linked to scams. Even after blocking, one of those numbers rang me yet again today. I’m not quite sure how they’re still managing it. This time, I shouted back at the caller before hanging up, and thankfully I haven't had any more calls from that number since then. Fingers crossed it stays that way!LondonGoogle3 yearsAiming to get me to upgrade, the caller claimed they were from Vodafone. I could hear the usual hubbub of a call centre in the back. I grew doubtful pretty quickly, especially after they rang me three more times insisting they were actually Vodafone’s Promotions Team. Eventually, I just stopped picking up and blocked the number. This all went on for about an hour! I’ve since reported the matter to Action Fraud.VodafoneVodafone Promotions TeamAction Fraud3 yearsSomebody claimed to be from Vodafone and tried to pitch me an upgrade. I could hear all the usual hubbub you get from a call centre in the background, which made me a bit wary. They kept ringing back, probably about three more times, insisting they were really from Vodafone's Promotions team. After that, I just stopped picking up and blocked the number altogether. The whole thing dragged on for about an hour! I've since reported the whole situation to Action Fraud.VodafoneAction Fraud3 yearsHe said it was a bargain upgrade from Vodafone, but when I looked up the number he gave me, it was obvious it was a scam. I called him out on it straight away.Vodafone3 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be EE about my upgrade. They had me go through the whole setup, even got me to agree to a direct debit. Then they wanted my full card number and the 3-digit code on the back. That’s when I realised it was dodgy and refused to hand over any more info. I told them it was a scam and hung up. After that, the same number rang me about half a dozen times, and the caller kept getting angry, yelling at me for not finishing the payment details.EE3 yearsThey say they’re from Three or PC Currys World and try to sell you phone deals. But when the item arrives, it’s not what you ordered. They then get someone from Royal Mail to collect the wrong device, saying sorry for the mix-up. Meanwhile, they keep that gadget and leave you stuck with the contract. If you call the number on the receipt and explain it’s a scam, the provider can cancel the contract. They’ll then send a proper delivery directly from them - just make sure you don’t hand it over to the scammer!ThreeRoyal Mail3 yearsThey kept ringing me three times back to back, with about five minutes in between every call. I don’t pick up numbers I don’t know, if it’s important they’d leave a message but nope, no voicemail at all. So I just blocked them straight away.3 yearsUsually I just ignore calls because it's often insurance or stuff like debt collection saying you've had a crash.
