I got a call from someone claiming I'd won a lottery, but then they wanted my sort code and my bank account number. When I wouldn’t give it to them, they said they’d bring on their manager. The ‘manager’ asked for the same info. I told them I looked them up on Trustpilot and they just hung up on me. Definitely seems like a scam.

I nearly got taken in by the whole thing... Got a call telling me I’d won ten lottery entries for this Friday. The caller somehow had my name, address and mobile, and said I’d be in a draw with about 150 others, with the prize split between us if we won. Then they started asking for my sort code, claiming they just needed it to identify my bank, followed by my account number. That’s when I twigged it was dodgy. A ‘supervisor’ jumped on the line right after and started talking down to me for doubting it. While she was going on, I quietly Googled and found similar warnings here. Cheers for that! I quickly told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call.

It's so frustrating, they keep ringing me over and over every day.

The person was pretty impolite, so I decided to just put the phone down!

this number has called me like 12 times, but i only got to pick up the last call. they were saying i'd won some euro lottery prizes, like 3 of them, which is rubbish since i never even join. they told me to buy 75 more tickets, no chance. feels like a scam, probably just trying to get my bank info to rob me. dont share anything, just ignore them or tell them to shove off.

This number has been popping up loads over the past few weeks, but I usually miss the call. When I did pick up recently, they told me I’d been given the opportunity to win 10 lines in the EuroMillions.

My phone keeps buzzing about three times daily. When I answered, some bloke with a heavy accent was claiming I’d bagged 300 free lottery tickets. You could hear a lot going on behind him like it was a full-on call centre. They even knew my home address! Then they started pushing me for my bank details, asking for account number and sort code - which felt off to me. No legit company should ever ask for that over the phone, right? I hung up pretty sharpish, but since then, they've been calling me non-stop, sometimes up to 8 times each day. Definitely suspicious and I’d say steer well clear of these calls. - caller: Unknown

I usually skip picking up numbers I don’t recognise and check who they belong to first. If it’s someone legit, I call them back, but if not, I just ignore it and delete the message.

I got a call from this number claiming I’d won a shot at 10 tickets for the EuroMillions draw happening tomorrow because I’d apparently entered an online competition. I wasn’t having any of it and told them I wasn’t interested but they kept pushing. I ended up just putting the phone down. They’ve been ringing me every day this past week! Fingers crossed now that I’ve made it clear I’m not keen, they’ll finally stop calling.

Like others have said before, this call supposedly came from the Lotto offering free lines for Friday, then some deal about 300 lines at a certain price? The accent definitely wasn’t British. Right away they asked for my bank’s name. They rambled on in a super polite way about security and wanted my sort code. They talked to me like I was slow, saying they couldn’t use my info for anything and I wasn’t paying anything today. When I didn’t give in, they started going on about how they could take money from a charity if it wasn’t secure. I told them I couldn’t access my bank details, and they kept pushing. I worked out what was going on pretty quickly and found it quite funny messing with them a bit. Eventually, I said I’d have to call back with the info, and then they just hung up on me. Very smooth talkers! Definitely watch out - this is a big scam waiting to catch you.

They keep ringing me about some lottery win, even though I've blocked the number already. It’s crazy how many times they still try to get through every single day.

Loads of different 020 numbers keep ringing me and I just don’t pick up, end up blocking them all. It’s really starting to annoy me!

Got calls from them for a few days in a row. When I finally picked up, they said I’d won free lottery entries online, but at the end of the chat, they mentioned I’d get a full refund. I asked, “Refund for what? I haven’t paid anything.” I also told them I’ve never entered any online lottery, so how did they get my number? I said it sounded like a scam. Still, they rang me back again. When I politely said, “Thanks, but no thanks, I’m not interested,” the person’s tone shifted. He said he wouldn’t waste any more time on me since others might want to hear the offer. That’s not how a trustworthy company talks. I think the person had an accent that sounded West African, maybe Nigerian or Ghanaian. Something along those lines.
