Somebody rang claiming to be from Halifax, saying they’d stopped suspicious activity on my account over the weekend and needed to check with me about the transactions. They then asked for my bank and online banking details to verify who I was. I called Halifax myself afterwards, and they said they hadn’t made any such call and don’t call out of the blue like that. It was pretty convincing though, so watch out and don’t give out any personal info. Best to just hang up and get in touch with Halifax directly before sharing anything.
