I had the misfortune of receiving a call from an obviously unpleasant woman. The moment I asked her what the purpose of the call was, she abruptly hung up! It’s quite clear that she’s not winning me over anytime soon with behaviour like that, especially from those trying to solicit support or opinions.

A rather impolite woman called me and inquired whether I was the individual she mentioned. Almost immediately, she started her spiel about some company conducting a survey on public voting behaviour in the upcoming general election. When I questioned how she knew it was indeed me, she replied, "Are you... So and so?" then nonchalantly mentioned that she obtained my name and number from the electoral roll. I told her I was heading out, to which she responded with a rather snide, "Oh, really?" Had she approached me with a simple ask about my willingness to participate, my answer would have been a polite no, thank you. I do believe this company ought to instil a bit of decorum and civility in their staff.
