Turns out, it was an agency contacting me on behalf of a charity I back. I've since filed a complaint with the charity, expressing that any further unsolicited communications will lead to me terminating my monthly contributions, as I view this as quite a nuisance.

I found out the number by calling 1471, and after a quick Google search, it turns out to be one of those pesky scam numbers! My home phone's supposed to be ex-directory, so I’m a bit baffled. The only place I've shared my number is with an online hotel booking service, which has a bunch of customer service lines starting with 020 and similar digits. It makes me suspect that this might be where my number ended up in the wrong hands, leading to these unwelcome interruptions!
