Got a call from this number, a woman asked for me and as soon as I said it was me, she just hung up. I got in touch with Motability Operations and they told me it’s a fundraising thing handled by a third party using that number. I mentioned that quite a few folks, myself included, were annoyed by these calls. They said they’d look into it and report it. If you’ve had calls from this number, maybe you should also notify the organisation they’re supposedly raising money for.

Got a ring from this number earlier today. They claimed to be raising money for Motability and wanted to speak to my husband, who wasn’t around. They offered to call back but I told them to stop calling because he’s hard of hearing and doesn’t really do phone calls. This is the second time they’ve tried, though the first I missed. Hopefully they make a note of it now.

They mentioned they needed to leave a number because of OFCOM regulations, but when I tried calling that same number again, it didn't go through and said it was unrecognised. So, I'm pretty sure this isn't really from Motability and think it's a scam.

A caller told me they were from Motability and asked for a donation. I questioned them if they were really from Motability, but they just kept dodging my questions. How on earth did they get hold of my name? And how did they know I was with Motability in the first place? It all seemed a bit fishy to me.

Someone rang claiming to be from Motability and actually used my name, so I thought it was legit. They kicked off quite politely, but then turned really pushy, asking over and over for donations and ongoing payments. It was honestly quite stressful, so I’ve blocked the number now. I’ll be reaching out to Motability myself tomorrow to find out how they got my info, especially since I’m ex-directory and on the TPS. My tip? Don’t waste time, just hang up straight away and block the number if it calls again.

It’s really frustrating that you have to jump through hoops just to stop the calls. I’m just going to block this number now. I donated what I could, and I don’t appreciate being pressured for more. If this happened in any other situation, it’d be totally unacceptable and maybe even illegal.

They kept trying to chat about what part of the event I recalled, with some bloke going on about a brave little boy called Luke who has cancer. It felt really low. Cancer research groups should be embarrassed working with firms like that, just making money by hassling people and pushing for more donations to various charities.
