When I used to work as a Children's Guardian, I dealt with Great Ormond Street Hospital quite a bit and always thought they were brilliant. So it’s really upsetting to see them using such pushy and off-putting fundraising calls now. Whenever I pick up, I can hardly make out what the person on the line is saying. It wouldn’t hurt if they at least left a message, but they don’t, which is just plain rude. I’m 73, retired, and have stopped donating to charities, so I’m just going to ignore calls from that number altogether. It’s a real pity that such a fantastic hospital has to rely on begging for donations - really, the government ought to be footing the bill for children’s healthcare properly.
