Got a call from an American-sounding robot claiming I owe HMRC money, telling me to call back straight away. I blocked it along with another similar one, 0203671467, which rang me three times today - proper annoying. Beware, calling back that number will cost you a fortune as it’s a premium line.

Had no idea about the number showing up, so I just ignored it. Seems like these 0203 numbers are often used by scammers pretending to be from London, but they might actually be calling from anywhere. Reminds me of those dodgy 0709 numbers too; if you pick up or call back, they start racking up quite a hefty charge, sometimes as much as £50 a minute!

There was classical music playing, then it stopped suddenly and a voice came on, but I couldn't make out what was being said.

Some bloke who said his name was Peter rang me unexpectedly. He spoke really clearly and asked for my partner, who wasn’t home at the time. When I asked what the call was about, he said it was regarding ‘an old investment’. He wouldn’t tell me his full name, the company he worked for, or any specifics on why he was ringing. Just said he was a ‘freelancer’ and couldn’t share details with me, saying he’d ring back. Watch out! Since our number’s ex-directory, it’s clear there’s been some kind of data leak somewhere.

some guy called himself peter and said he was freelancing or something lol. he kept going on about financial firms that have actually shut down ages ago and asked if i ever bought cfd investments through them. i told him i dont give out personal stuff over the phone and that was that. he sounded alright but honestly, never share your details with random people calling you out of the blue. smells like a scam to me.

@ some bloke who said his name sounded like ‘ita’ rang me asking for my late mum, using her full name. I asked how he came by her name and my number. He claimed he’d dealt with her before. I pushed for what the call was about and it turned out to be something to do with investments. I said I was the only one to manage her investments, so that’s why he had my number, not hers. Then I asked which company he was calling from. He said he wasn’t with a company, he worked solo. I told him I’d never heard of him before and asked for his full name. He called me annoying and just hung up.

Didn’t pick up cause I never answer calls from numbers I don’t know, usually let em go to voicemail. No voicemail this time so I looked the number up here and surprise surprise, total rubbish callers. Wish I could find out who sold my phone number, think it might be that car repair place from ages ago coz the calls started after that but when I asked them they said no. Phone companies really ought to block spoofing, if someone rings me I wanna be able to call em back and tell em what I think.

No idea who these folks are but it’s getting really irritating. I’m expecting a call from the hospital and when I answer it, the person on the other end is speaking some language I don’t understand. Don’t know why they keep ringing but seriously, they need to quit it.

I gave it a go calling back on my home phone, just to avoid them spotting it, but it told me the number wasn't valid or didn't exist.

Whenever I ring back that number, there’s never anyone there to pick up. It’s just some automated system that keeps dialing out with a recorded message from 9 in the morning till 9 at night, Monday through Saturday. Really irritating.
