Some bloke rang me saying he was from O2, warned me my SIM would get blocked in 2 days. I told him I was actually outside an O2 store, but he said there was no need to go in. When I refused to believe him, he got quite rude, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2, warning me my SIM would be blocked in a couple of days. I said I’d just head to the local O2 store since I was right outside it. He said that wasn’t necessary. When I refused again, he started being pretty rude, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were O2, warning my SIM was going to be blocked in a couple of days and they sent me some recovery code via text. I just said I wasn’t bothered, and then the bloke told me to piss off. *This is one of those SIM swap tricks - they use a legit recovery code to get into your account and then can get one-time passwords sent to your phone for stuff like banking apps to carry out fraud. Proper risky stuff.*

Got a call from a bloke with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be from Virgin Media and O2. When I started asking questions, he just cut the call straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, said my number was going to be blocked. Bit strange since I’m not with O2 at all. They hung up super quick too. Feels like a scam or some dodgy sales pitch for a fake provider, watch out!

I got a call from some bloke claiming to be “MICHAEL” from O2, saying there was an issue with my SIM and it might get disabled. I just ended the call straight away and blocked the number. Honestly, I should’ve guessed something was up since my phone flagged it as “SUSPECTED SPAM”.

I got a call from someone saying they were with O2 and that my SIM card was about to be cancelled and replaced with a new one. The guy had a really strong accent and I struggled to catch what he was saying, so I had to ask him to repeat himself a few times. Then he passed me over to someone else, probably trying to get my personal info, but I hung up straight away. They rang me back a couple of times soon after, but I ignored it. I later contacted O2 myself and they told me they never make calls like that - it was definitely a scam.
