I received a phone call at a quarter past six on the 14th of January, 2016. A woman with a distinctly British accent rang me up, claiming I might be entitled to a refund from a company that sounded something like ......(something)....Jones. When I inquired further about the company, her response was rather vague and didn’t quite add up. Curiosity got the better of me and I asked about the products or services they offered, to which she suddenly ended the conversation. To me, this absolutely reeks of a scam!

I received a call on my home phone from this number, where the caller claimed to be inquiring about a refund from the bank that I apparently needed to collect. However, when I asked for clarification, he simply regurgitated his original statement without any real elaboration. I instantly recognised it as a scam and ended the call. I’m certain there’s no bank that owes me any money, and I have no doubt that had I engaged with him further, he would have requested my banking information under the pretense of facilitating a non-existent refund. Just a heads-up - stay sharp and don’t get ensnared in this sort of trickery.
