They’re just trying to frighten businesses into coughing up cash for gdpr compliance, which honestly isn’t even necessary. Total scammers if you ask me.

She kept saying she was GDPR compliant but wouldn’t share her number, said she’d ring me later - definitely felt a bit dodgy.

Received a call inquiring about whether we’ve settled the ICO fee pertaining to GDPR. The caller gave the impression they were part of a government body, suggesting they were pursuing individuals who aren’t listed with the ICO. They went on to mention the potential for a fine. Honestly, I can’t shake the feeling this might be a scam. I’ll keep you posted on any developments.

They rang up saying they were from a government department checking if we'd paid the ICO fee for GDPR. They tried to make it sound legit by hinting at fines for those not on the ICO register. It all seemed pretty official, but it was definitely a scam. When I tried ringing back, no one picked up at first, and then someone finally answered just saying "GDPR compliance" with no real details.
