I got a call from the same number and person who rang me yesterday claiming to be from BT’s nuisance calls team. Then today, she said she was calling from BT’s Senior Citizens Discount team. She asked me to verify my phone number, and I told her she ought to know it already since she’d just rung me moments before, then suddenly cut the call. Honestly, if it wasn’t such a serious matter, it’d be quite funny.

I got a call early morning, around 8:30 on the 22nd of December 2020. The lady on the other end sounded like she was from abroad and said she was ringing from BT about some sort of discount. She started by stating my name and address, asking me to confirm if it was correct. She told me I didn’t need to worry as my bills were paid by direct debit anyway, which I think was just a lucky guess on her part. Then she tried asking for my credit card expiry date. That’s when I told her straight I don’t share card details with overseas scammers and hung up.

So this number rings me up pretending to be BT even though they clearly know I'm with a different company. They say they're calling about nuisance calls I've been getting and offer to help sort it out. Only after I dial 1471 to check who's been bothering me do I realise the calls are actually coming from the same number! Then they start asking for my bank card info. Weirdly, they already have my address too. I'm definitely going to report this one to the police.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise but they left no message on my answer machine, so I’m guessing it was a scam. From what I’ve read here, it probably was. I’m definitely not an O.A.P though! These days I just let my answer machine pick up any unknown numbers because there’s way too many scams about. If someone important wants to get in touch, they’ll leave a message anyway.

I got a call from someone named Sam who said he was with British Telecom, trying to sell me a 20% discount for seniors. He wanted me to give him my personal info, like my name and address. Beware of this dodgy number attempting to fish for your bank information! They claim you're entitled to a £20 refund on your phone bill. The bloke on the line had a thick accent, which seems to be the norm for these types of scams. He was rather vague about the company he supposedly represented as well. Honestly, I just call them phone thieves-they're not exactly bright bulbs, let me tell you!

Got a call from an Indian lady saying she was from BT. She told me there’d been a change to my credit card and asked if I could share the new expiry date. Had a call from a woman with an Indian accent going by the name 'Jennifer', claiming to be from BT about my phone bill. I told her we actually use Sky. She then started on about how BT owns the network and went on like she was doing me a favour. Some older folks might get tricked by this nonsense. These callers are pretty rude and annoying. This was the second time in two days they’ve phoned.

The caller had an Indian accent and claimed his name was Mathew, saying he was ringing from my landline provider. He asked if I was the person with my daughter’s first name and my family name. I confirmed I was. Then he offered a 20% off discount for senior citizens. I said I wasn’t a senior, which I am actually, but didn’t want to admit it to him. As soon as he realised I wasn’t cooperating, he cut the call rather quickly.

Got a call from someone in India who wanted me to verify my name. I snapped back telling him to get on with it since it was clearly a dodgy call. He then lost it and asked if I was mad or needed to be locked up in a mental home. I cheekily asked if he could suggest a good place, and that’s when he just hung up. Got a call from a bloke with an Indian or Pakistani accent pretending to be from BT's telephone preference service. He kept saying I really need to update my TPS and swore he would call me back later today because it’s apparently urgent!!!

Had a call earlier and I just hit the block button on my CPR blocker thingy, no point picking up numbers I don’t recognise. Sorted, the idiot’s gone. Got like 247 numbers blocked over the last couple of years, tells you how many scammers are out there these days.

Got a call from 02034751486, some bloke who sounded Pakistani, said my telephone preference service had to be updated. He asked for my card details, which seemed dodgy. Honestly, you'd think the police could step in and put a stop to these con artists!

Just got a call roughly an hour ago from someone claiming to be with BT about the telephone preference service. A guy named Derek, but he spoke with an Indian accent. He said my subscription had run out, but I told him nicely that wasn’t true and I wasn’t interested.

A man with a foreign accent called me, saying his name was Leo and that the phone blocking service was stopping. He asked if I’d had any annoying calls recently, I said yes, and told him this was one of those. Then I just ended the call. He rang me straight back and kept the phone ringing for ages. The strange bit was he even knew where I lived!

I got a call from some bloke called Brian who said he was from a call blocking service. He started with, "Hi, I'm Brian from call blocking." I said, "Alright, what’s the catch? What are you selling me?" He insisted, "I’m not selling anything." I joked, "So you just wanted to check in on me then?" Turns out, Brian wasn't interested in a friendly chat because he hung up right after that.

I've had multiple calls from this number, each time being threatened that £299 would be deducted from our bank account. They leave a contact number if we wish to discuss it further. It's high time someone put an end to this nonsense.

Like many of you, I got a voicemail from an Asian woman saying my internet has a virus and that I've broken some kind of internet law. She warned me she’d be taking £299 from my bank. No clue where on earth she got my info from. Definitely a scam!

I received a voicemail from a supposedly American number claiming that my elderly parents' internet was infected with a virus, which is quite absurd since they don't even have internet access! To top it off, they tried to scare us into paying £299. Honestly, someone really ought to give these scammers a serious talking-to!
