I received a phone call from someone who claimed to be reaching out to me about "renewing" my washing machine insurance. Oddly enough, they insisted that they required my bank details to proceed. It all felt wildly suspicious to me, as if it were nothing more than a con!

The person on the phone already knew my name and where I live, telling me my washing machine insurance had run out and asking if I wanted to renew it. I told him the machine is really old, like over ten years. He insisted I could renew still and if it broke, they’d replace it with a new one. I said no thanks and ended the call. But this was Monday afternoon, and only now, Friday, did I realise the call was still connected all this time. I've finally closed the call, but honestly, I’m not sure how many missed calls or messages I might’ve had while the line stayed open.
