I received a call today from a woman I don’t recognise, who rang me from this number regarding my washing machine. She mentioned something about renewing my warranty and insisted that we could sort everything out on the phone. It’s got all the hallmarks of a scam, if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Platinum Home Care about a washing machine. She kept giving the wrong house number and eventually just hung up after mumbling to herself for like 2 minutes and a bit. This was the first time this number rang me. Feels like a total scam to me.

Got a call from some bloke named BRANDON, speaking with an Asian accent, who said my washing machine warranty had run out. When he named the brand of the machine, I knew straight away it was a con. We’re actually on our second machine since the one he mentioned! Honestly, just tell these lot you don’t buy warranties from random phone calls. Seems like everyone’s just chasing their Christmas bonus - I’ve had loads of calls like this lately about washers, boilers, and the like.
