I got a call from a lady trying to sell me an extended warranty for my 15 year old Voja, and something about it felt off. After looking into it, I found out it was actually a scam! Good thing I didn't agree to anything during that call!

Some bloke with a weird accent rang me up and said his boss wanted to have a word. Right after, this bloke came on all pushy and arrogant, hassling me to confirm my bank card expiry so he could sort out my British Gas boiler service - which isn’t even due for another five months! I could hear the same woman making noises in the background both times, probably from the same room. The guy was so annoyingly insistent, he even rang me back again!

If you ever pick up when one of these numbers calls, just let them talk for a bit and then say they’re being recorded or watched. Trust me, they won’t bother you a second time 😉

I've asked this woman over and over to quit ringing me, but the calls just keep coming. She switches up the extensions all the time, so blocking isn't working anymore since I've already blocked one number before.

Got a call from the same bloke today, 3rd April 2021, the one who rang yesterday about renewing my boiler warranty that supposedly expired. I told him once more I’ve got no warranty on my boiler, called him a proper scammer, and then ended the call.

On 2nd December 2021, I got a call from an Asian guy asking for me and saying it was time to renew my boiler warranty. I told him I don’t have any warranty on my boiler, then I called him a scammer and ended the call. I’d say this was pretty dodgy and risky.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from the bank, asking for my name and bank info. I said, "Asif Patel," and he got really annoyed, saying that wasn't a Muslim name. Just then, I glanced at an old Indian takeaway menu nearby and quickly told him, "Actually, it's Raj Duth!"

This number rang me up around 3:17pm and some bloke named Jesse was on the line. Like others have said, he was trying to get me to renew some kind of heating boiler cover. I’m never one to deal with cold calls like that, especially when I don’t know them. Luckily, I’ve got a mate who’s a gas and central heating engineer, so he sorts all that out for me.

I got a call on 02034685603 from a young lady saying her name was Kelly. She told my 84-year-old mum that her boiler was due for a service. Sadly, mum gave them her bank details. They only managed to take £25, but when we spoke to the bank, they said since mum gave the details willingly, it’s not technically considered fraud. We’ve gone ahead and cancelled all her bank cards now.

Guy said he handled servicing for other companies. We already have a contract for our boiler, and the usual company always writes to us first, so this was definitely an unsolicited call. He couldn’t get any specifics right about our equipment. I told him straight it was a cold call right before I ended the call. Seems like this caller has no regard for the telephone preference service.

I got a call from a man with a foreign accent who knew my name and my landline number. He never mentioned my husband, who sadly passed away from Covid in February, so he must have had very recent info. He started talking about a boiler installation, which felt suspicious, so I told him I thought it was a scam. He just hung up straightaway. Coincidentally, I’m expecting a boiler engineer to come round today for a service, so there’s always something a bit fishy about these calls.

Another one trying to scam me, same old story. This bloke called about renewing my boiler insurance, but first he asked for my birthdate and bank details. He already had my name and address though. Got a call from someone claiming my boiler warranty had expired. Yeah, it has, but that was ages ago - my son fitted the boiler back in 2011 and keeps on top of it himself. I reckon the caller was either trying to push a new warranty or just fishing for my information. Honestly, never hand out your personal info to strangers on the phone.
