I got a call from this exact number earlier today, but I ignored it at first and decided to do a quick reverse lookup. After checking, I rang Natwest myself to confirm if this number was legit. The person on the line actually dialled the number while I was waiting and verified it belongs to their anti-fraud department. A few days back, I set up a money transfer to Morocco, so the call was just them making sure I really authorised it and that no one was trying to steal from me. On 8th August 2024, I got a ring from 02034676666 claiming to be RBS about a cheque I supposedly wrote yesterday. Thing is, I haven’t used a cheque in ages, not for months, so it felt really fishy. What are the chances I write one exactly yesterday and then get a call today asking me to verify it? Feels like someone’s spying on me, and it’s not for my good. Watch yourselves! Just to be safe, I’d suggest phoning your branch before 2pm today. I ended the call right there.
