someone rang my dads landline today. I told the lady he was abroad for work. she asked if I was family, I said yes, his daughter. she then kept saying not to hang up cause she wasn’t selling anything, but she started talking so fast I couldn’t catch a word. she asked if anyone still drives in the house, I said no one does. she asked again and I clearly said no. then out of nowhere she said my tone was horrible and she didn’t like my voice! i was shocked and said I hadn’t done anything wrong and hung up. honestly, so rude! my advice is just don’t answer if you get a call like this.

I got a call from someone claiming to be doing market research and they actually knew my name and where I lived. They started asking loads of personal stuff like which newspapers I usually read, the car I drive, whether I've applied for new credit or debit cards lately, and even details about my life insurance and other policies, including who they're with. They also wanted to know who provides my broadband and if I’m thinking about switching, plus my mobile provider and my age. Does this sound like something to be concerned about?

Loads of missed calls, so at last I picked up. They wanted me to respond to four questions, which I did. But when I wanted to ask something back, it felt like I was chatting with a machine.

For more than a week, they were ringing me every day, but I just ignored them since I never pick up unknown numbers on my phone. Thankfully, it seems like they've finally gotten the hint because I haven’t had any calls from them in a few weeks now.

I get calls from +44 and a regular landline like 5 times daily, they just drop the call when I say hello. So now I just block their number straight away.

I'm dealing with this too and thought it might be important, so I picked up yesterday. It was a lady wanting me to answer some questions, so I told her to quit ringing me, and she just dropped the call. Then I get another missed call today. Tried blocking the number on my phone but it didn’t do anything. These calls are such a pain, they keep coming all the time and I’m getting really annoyed with them.

They wont stop ringing me, ive phoned their office a couple of times and they said it’s their number (Verso Group 01582 763 090). I asked them to remove my number from their list and also sent them an email at [email protected][###] but still getting calls.

This bloke keeps ringin me like 5 or 6 times every day! I told him to quit calling my phone and even blocked the number two times but he still manages to get through somehow. Sounds like an Indian guy, always askin for me by my old surname.

I got a call from someone asking for a person who doesn’t even live at my address. They were pretty pushy, trying hard to get me to say who lives here and the postcode. I tried explaining nicely that I couldn’t give out my info without knowing who they were or the reason, but they just wouldn’t have it. In the end, I just hung up because they kept repeating stuff like “Ma’am, I have to verify your postcode and talk to the person linked to this number.” Proper annoying.

I keep gettin calls on my mobile but just as I answer, they hang up. It happens like two or three times daily.

They've called me a bunch of times, so I picked up one morning around 8:30. The guy never even said who he was, and just bombarded me without letting me get a word in. He said he had three questions to ask. But when he got to the fourth one about loans or mortgages, I pointed out that was more than three and then I hung up. It started off with asking what paper I read then quickly got a bit too personal. I've just blocked the number now.

Got two calls today that just went to my answerphone, no messages left. I picked up one but there was just silence on the other end.

Not sure who's ringing from this number, but it's at least twice daily. Whenever I pick up, there's silence and they hang up after about 6 seconds.

Every time I pick up and just say hello, they immediately hang up, but they keep ringing until you say it. Honestly, the phone companies should do something about this kind of pestering. This number calls me like two or three times every single week.
