3 yearsI got a call and immediately noticed the strange heavy breathing on the other end. Normally, call centres don't have that kind of background noise, so I figured the caller was somewhere dodgy. The guy sounded nervous, which made me suspicious straight away. He claimed to be from the International Rescue Committee and said I could enter a lottery to win one of 40 prizes each week for £1, or pay £2 to double my chances. Thankfully, I followed my gut and searched the number online, which came up as a known scam. I just hope Apple hasn’t shared my info with these scammers - they could use clever tricks or algorithms to pull off some kind of fraud against me or others they target. If anyone else gets calls like this, definitely report it to the police.
