Indeed, I've come across a rather dodgy operation involving O2. It appears they masquerade as representatives from 3Mobile, luring folks in with enticing offers for both handsets and SIM cards. The trick lies in their requests for your banking information, which they exploit to siphon funds from your account. Before you know it, you could find yourself tethered to two or three contracts without a clue, as they vanish into thin air-often leaving you with nothing more than an O2 SIM and a rather uninspiring dummy phone in the post. Do remain vigilant, as they can be quite cunning! You might receive personal messages on WhatsApp where they’ll implore you to return the parcel to a private address in Manchester or some far-flung location, claiming it was a mix-up and assuring you the correct package is on its way. But inevitably, they’ll vanish, leaving you high and dry. Stay wise and don’t fall for their ruse! 💔

I received a peculiar phone call today from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. The woman on the line had an Indian accent and was rather insistent about trying to acquire my banking information, all while boasting about various cheap mobile phone deals. Just a heads-up to everyone - be vigilant!

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise so I just let it go to voicemail. I’ve heard 0203 numbers are usually scams! This one was 0203 3455 4635.

Same routine for me, if the number’s not familiar, I just let it ring out - if it’s important they’ll leave a message right? Then I pop over here to see if anyone else has said something about it. This number’s definitely on the block list now! I also watch out for our elderly neighbour, so I put these dodgy numbers in her phone to block too and tell her mates and family to do the same. :-)

Most times if the phone quits ringing after about 4 or 5 rings, it’s probably just a telemarketer.

I decided to brush off the call from this 020 number since I don't recognise anyone from the London region, and given my past experiences, I've found similar calls to be nothing but dodgy scams. I steer clear of unsolicited calls, as they almost always turn out to be rip-offs. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number, but it seems there’s a never-ending list of different numbers that these con artists operate from.

I recently received a call from a bloke named Tim, supposedly from Curry's, reminding me that my insurance is up for renewal. The last time I set foot in Curry's was donkeys years ago, probably around three decades back! Clearly, this is a dodgy con.

I received a call from someone purporting to be associated with "phonehouse", which supposedly isn't a dodgy outfit. The pitch was about ordering a mobile and making a payment, after which you'd supposedly get a refund. Honestly, the chap was so fixated on his script that I nearly dozed off trying to engage him in conversation.

I received a phone call from this number and the person on the other end rattled off their company name at an alarming speed. I had to request them to repeat it, but alas, they just sped through it once more. After my third attempt to clarify, they had the cheek to ask me, 'Madam, are you hearing impaired?' Truly quite discourteous. I simply disconnected the call.

Claimed his name was David, but his accent was decidedly foreign. When I inquired how he got my number, he stated it came from my provider, EE. Trouble is, I’m not with EE at all. He then corrected himself, saying it was O2 instead. Once again, I’m not with them either! I told him he sounded like a scammer and he promptly ended the call.

Caution! I received a dodgy phone call from someone claiming to be with O2. They insisted they would send me a 6-digit code that I had to provide them. No code arrived, but had it done so, I might have unwittingly handed over access to my O2 account. This could have led to serious banking fraud if they'd managed to transfer my number elsewhere. Stay vigilant!
