I received a call from a rather robotic voice purporting to be from BT, warning me that my landline and broadband would be cut off imminently. It instructed me to “press 1 for further details, or press 2 to carry on…” Naturally, I went ahead and pressed 1, only to be met with silence followed by that dreadful disconnection tone. I promptly checked the BT website for any outages or maintenance in my area, but according to them, everything is tickety-boo. I've fired off a complaint via email since they were unavailable on the phone-just the usual “we're experiencing high call volumes” nonsense. Though I don't anticipate a swift response… Thankfully, my landline and broadband are still functioning for now.
