The caller stated he was inquiring about a car accident. When my mum let him know that she struggles with her English, he insisted on repeating his message regarding the accident. In confusion, she asked if I had been involved in an accident, to which he replied affirmatively. This distressing news caused my mother to collapse. My father swiftly dialled my mobile to inform me, while kind neighbours rushed to call for an ambulance for her. It's absolutely appalling how heartless these individuals are. I urge you to put an end to this nonsense.

Got a call from this number today saying I’d been in an accident. When I asked where they got this info, they first said the motor insurance bureau, then changed it to my insurer. I asked which one, but they couldn’t give me a name. Told them it’s against the law to make calls like this, but they just kept pushing the story about the accident. I looked up the number on 1471, called back and was told they don’t take incoming calls - classic scam. The government really needs to sort these out like they promised.

Got a call from someone saying they were from an 'Accident Helpline', saying they had info from the MIB about a crash I'd supposedly been in.
