Got a call today from someone saying they were ringing for a client... sounded like a standard South Asian call centre voice. Wouldn't say who they were or who the client was, but still wanted my personal info. I told them no way until they gave proper details, then politely ended the call. As I was hanging up, they warned that if the client contacts me, they’d be back on the line. Rubbish, if you ask me. Totally feels like a scam, so best just to ignore any calls like that.

For months now I’ve been getting calls on my landline with messages from some debt collectors. They keep asking for someone I’ve never heard of. Today I actually picked up and there was an automated voice asking for that person. When I said they weren’t there, it asked if they were just not available or if I lived at that address. Right after I replied, the call was cut off. Honestly, these lot are the worst, taking advantage of people who might be struggling.

For the past couple of years, I've been getting nonstop calls and messages from these lot. No matter how many times I block their emails, texts, or phone numbers, they just won't quit! My routine is pretty simple though: any letters just get tossed or sent back to sender; each time they switch to a new phone number, I block it; and their emails end up as spam complaints. Honestly, they can keep at it for years to come if they want - by then, it’ll probably be before the time limit runs out anyway!

Got a text supposedly from Jefferson Capital with a ref number and an email (my.carsuk.org), but they spelled my name wrong. Then got a call today saying I owe money to one of their clients. They wouldn’t say which client unless I gave them my home address, so I said no. The guy, sounded Indian, got quite threatening, saying I'd get a letter and they'd visit if I didn’t get in touch. They were pretty pushy, so I matched their tone. I'd bet older or more vulnerable people would get really scared by that. Seems like a scam to me.
