Today I got a call after I’d texted Friends of the Earth following a TV appeal they did. I also sent a message with the word “Remove” to the 70060 number, just to be clear.
It might’ve been UNICEF calling too, as I gave them a donation last week. Whichever organisation it was, they’ve probably lost me as a donor now - all this fuss has really put me off donating like this in future.

I keep getting calls from this number and decided to ring it back to see who it was. There's an automated voice that says it's "Listen" and tells you to ring 020 3365 9055 if you want your number taken off their list. After calling that number a few times, I was asked to enter my phone number followed by the hash key. Even after doing this several times, it keeps saying my number isn’t recognised. Feels like they're just making an excuse to keep pestering me but appear legitimate to the regulator. It’s really frustrating because I hardly want to answer the phone now unless it’s an emergency - it’s becoming a real pain. Cheers for letting me share this here. I recently made a donation of five pounds to Cancer Research through a text on my phone, and soon after, I began receiving calls from a certain number. After doing a bit of digging online, I discovered it was a call centre working on behalf of several charities. They ring you up to conduct surveys or to encourage regular contributions. If you'd rather not receive these calls, you can simply text "DECLINE" to 66010 to opt out. I did that and promptly received a message back from Cancer Research UK, expressing gratitude for my support and confirming that I had been removed from their contact list. Cheers to that!
