After doing a bit of digging online, I discovered it was a call centre working on behalf of several charities. They ring you up to conduct surveys or to encourage regular contributions. I did that and promptly received a message back from Cancer Research UK, expressing gratitude for my support and confirming that I had been removed from their contact list. Cheers to that!
