Got a call from some suspicious firm claiming to offer free financial advice. I rang them back with 141 to keep my number private and used bits from the phonejacker app during the call. Honestly, I’d suggest messing about with them since they sure waste our time.

This number just rang me up, said they’re going to send some papers about my pension and a bloke called Martin, no idea who he is. Claimed their advice won’t cost a penny. When I asked where the money comes from, the guy just said Martin’s the one who’ll explain on Monday.

I called the number back and, to my surprise, someone picked up straight away. I can't quite recall who it was, but they asked if I had the funds to invest in stocks. Once I told them no, they just ended the call.

Received a call from someone named "Tom" today (7 Aug 2013) saying he was ringing on behalf of SVS Securities in London. He claimed it was a "quick courtesy call" but as my number is ex-directory, I told him it would be courteous to apologise and stop bothering me. I'm signed up with the TPS too, so I’m planning to report this annoying call there as well.

I got a call from a private number, I think this is the third time it’s happened. As soon as I answered, the line just went dead. When I checked 1471, it suggested I call back automatically but with a fee attached - I didn’t go for that. I tried ringing manually and there was nothing but silence, no ring at all. These sorts of calls happen so much now that I’ve stopped answering properly, no more saying my name or a cheerful hello. I just assume it’s either a robo caller or someone fishing for info. It’s a shame, really, as phones should be for chatting with folks. I’ve blocked the number on my call blocking device now. Sorry to anyone genuine on the other end, but I really doubt it was.
