I had a rather unwelcome call on my mobile at precisely 4:31 this afternoon (26th March 2014). The voice on the other end belonged to a gentleman who sounded like he hailed from either India or Pakistan. He inquired if he was speaking to Mrs .................., albeit he mispronounced my name quite noticeably. Given his accent, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that I was dealing with a scam artist, so I promptly ended the call. I get the impression that this number has tried to reach me before. A while back, I registered with a telephone preference service, so if this is indeed a legitimate BT number, I can’t fathom why they’re still permitted to make such intrusive calls. I received a call from this number recently, but I wasn’t able to catch the name of the company. The chap on the line was quite difficult to decipher. He was inquiring about my fiancée's former spouse, and despite my clear response that I wasn’t her, he an insisted that I was. When I mentioned that I was busy at work, he remarked that the chat would only take a minute, but instead, he just kept harping on about how I was this other individual. To make matters worse, he continuously repeated her postcode, even after I stated I wasn’t the person he sought. I eventually got so frustrated that I had no choice but to hang up!

I received a call from a telephone centre purporting to represent "Simplyoutbound.co.uk," complete with a supposedly UK address. You can find their website online for verification. In reality, this number connects you to an Indian call centre that persists in making unsolicited calls under the guise of "business generation," seemingly unfazed by British laws and regulations. I've since added them to my "CallBlocker" list to prevent any further interruptions from this particular number. It’s high time we had a genuine regulatory body with sufficient authority and insight to address this ongoing nuisance.

Today, I received a call from this number. The caller inquired if he was speaking to Mr B...... I said no, and then he proceeded to ask if I was related to him. Naturally, I was curious about who I was conversing with, and he identified himself as Andrew. When I probed further about the purpose of the call, he abruptly disconnected. I attempted to return the call but after waiting for five minutes, there was still no response.
