Got a call from a guy with a foreign accent who wanted to talk to me or my husband. Claimed he was from Openreach, trying to help lower our phone bill. Same as last time, the phone just stopped ringing right when I was about to pick up. BT never cold calls, and I reckon most other legit companies don’t either. These scammers try to scare you, making out like they’re legit and that there’s some big problem to sort out (with awful results if you don’t). You have to stay strong and not fall for their tricks.

Got a call from an asian bloke claiming to be from TalkTalk, saying they were cutting my line rental by £4 each month since BT had dropped their fees to TalkTalk. Then he started asking stuff like my age, how long I’d been with them, and my dob. Didn’t hang about for the scam, just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from this number just now. There was a weird pause before he started talking, so I guessed it was a dodgy sales call or something scammy. Couldn't catch a single word he said, so I told him he’d got the wrong number. He just hung up after that.

Definitely dodgy scammers, they rang an ex-directory number that’s on the TPS, so they’re probably using some sort of autodialler. Was an Indian bloke asking loads about how I use my phone. Proper risky stuff. Best to report it to Ofcom.

This is the second time today I’ve had a call from this area code, but everytime it just cuts off after about 5 rings. From what people are saying, it seems like some sort of scam. Received a rather peculiar call from someone with a strong foreign accent. He claimed to be Adam and mentioned he was ringing from a firm (I missed the name, unfortunately) that could assist us in securing a more favourable rate on our energy bills.
