I mean, if the person says they’re from your bank or service provider, why do they need your bank details at all? They should have all that info on file already! Stay safe and don’t fall for it.

Got a call from someone saying they're from an insurance firm with a rebate offer. Be careful! I got wary when they asked for my bank info. Did a 1471 check on the number, rang it back, and only got a robot voice saying it was a firm called ‘protect your home’. I then looked them up online using the details from the 1471 search, but found nothing about them. Pretty fishy if you ask me!

This number keeps ringing me about boiler cover. Whenever I answer and ask which cover they're talking about, the call just cuts off. It's happened loads of times now, and most of the time, no one even says a word.

just like someone else mentioned here, the caller knew my name straight away and started trying to get me to pay £9 for a washing machine warranty. I told him he must have got the wrong info because I definitely don’t pay that. he then took ages confirming my name and address bit by bit. after that, i told him to take my number off their list and blocked him straight away.
