If they won’t say where they got your number, I wouldn’t trust ’em!

This number rang me twice today, once at 9.59am and then again at 4.24pm. Just like others have mentioned, there was office noise in the background and a bloke who asked for me by name. He then started on about combining my cover for my washing machine and other stuff, which made no sense to me. I said, "I have no idea what you mean," and hung up right away. I don't deal with any insurance. Definitely scammers - watch out!

Got a call about some new rules for loft insulation. The chap was polite enough but I cut him off straight away, telling him my husband’s a builder and our insulation is all up to scratch. He said thanks and that he’d remove us from the list, but honestly, I doubted it, so I went ahead and blocked the number! I swear every number starting with 0203 or 0204 is just a scam these days!

He offered a deal covering 3 appliances for about £11 a month, including free call outs, and said if something couldn’t be fixed, they’d replace it free. I asked twice where he got my number from and he said I probably ticked a box when buying the washing machine or warranty. Told him I’d need to check with my husband and asked for the company name again, but he just hung up. This number has called a few times and I wouldn’t trust it at all.

Got a call saying the ‘rock wool insulation’ in my loft, put in under the previous Green Deal scheme, has some issue and needs replacing. Told the bloke I don’t even have rock wool insulation up there, actually I don’t have a loft at all. He said he was looking at my house so couldn’t understand what I meant. They tried to trick my elderly folks into buying some sort of appliance service plan for stuff they dont even own. Scary part is they had credit card details that matched a real card my folks have. We had to cancel the card right away to stop them from taking any money out. Honestly, watch out for these scammers, theyre dangerous.

Got a couple of calls today about some insurance for domestic appliances. Asked them which ones and the bloke says "your Hotpoint washing machine." Told him, in no uncertain terms, that I’ve never owned a Hotpoint washer and, quite frankly, he seemed a bit daft.
