Some bloke with a foreign accent claimed he was calling from O2, saying I could get 25% off my tariff. I told him I’d already been offered 35% yesterday by someone ringing from a similar number. Then suddenly he matched that 35%. Seemed way too dodgy to me. He then asked for a security code that was supposedly sent in a text to confirm my account. I told him no way and said to send any info to my billing address since if he was legit, he’d know where I live. He kept pushing so I just ended the call and blocked the number. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2, saying I could get 20% off for being a loyal customer. Felt a bit iffy, so while still on the call I looked up this site and glad I did. They sent me a couple of texts pretending to be O2, but they weren’t in the usual O2 message thread. The texts started chatting about a credit card I don’t even have, so I reckon the next thing would’ve been asking for my card details. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Scam alert - Got a call from someone claiming to be the "EE Promotions Team" offering a cracking 40% discount. When I asked what phone I had, she replied that the system was closed so she couldn’t see. Then I asked her to confirm my identity, and same answer, "closed system." Told her I’d ring EE myself to check this 'deal' out. She warned I wouldn’t reach her and insisted I had to deal with EE straight away. Very fishy!

Got a call from some bloke a minute ago, mentioned O2 or summat, sounded like a dodgy money scam to me. As soon as they said O2, I told em I ain’t got no idea why they’re calling, I’m not even with O2. They just said “oh, sorry” and hung up. Total SCAM, watch out folks!

Got a call today and picked up 'cos I was curious who it was. Some bloke said he was ringing from O2! I asked him straight why he was bothering me, told him I'm on the Telephone Preferences Service like twice over, and that I’m on Pay as you Go so no idea why he’s calling. Then he just hung up. Got a call earlier, some guy muttering about my credit card being used in some EU country but saying he couldn’t give details because of data protection rules or whatnot. Then he asked for every card I have and my address to “confirm identity”. Like, seriously? Only then he’d tell me which card it was and where it happened. The funny part is, I don’t even have a credit card! Told him thanks for the call but I don’t have one. That totally threw him off.

This guy rang me pretending to be from O2 saying I could get 35% off my bill. He said he would send me a couple of texts acting like they were from O2 and that I should give him the code from the second message. O2 quickly responded to the texts warning it was a scam and told me not to share the code! I don’t know why I stayed on the phone so long, it was clearly dodgy from the start! He even rang back after I ended the call, but I’ve blocked the number now.
