Just got a call about upgrading my Metro Bank account - pretty sure it’s a scam, so I just hung up straight away. Be careful, people!

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from Metro Bank, asking a bunch of security questions. The phone number matched what’s on Metro’s website, so I didn’t get suspicious at first. He said scammers were after my account, so I went along with what he told me to do. Later, I found out my wages had been spent on stuff from various shops. I reported it to Metro straight away while transactions were still pending, but they said they looked into it and couldn’t get my money back because apparently it was my fault. Honestly, terrible service from Metro - avoid them if you can. I’m fighting this and I’m not giving up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Metro Bank. They mentioned two suspicious transactions linked to some IP and asked if they were mine. I had a feeling it was dodgy, so I told them yeah, both were mine. The caller got all confused and just ended the call! Rude behaviour, honestly! 😂

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Metro Bank after I made a purchase at astorandfoy bookshop, which turned out to be a dodgy site. When I told them straight up I knew it was a scam, they just ended the call on me. Quite frustrating!

This was a proper clever scam making out it was Metro Bank. Just ignore it, they’re after your cash and nothing else.

Got a call supposedly from Metro Bank about some dodgy transactions on my account. At first, it seemed legit enough, but then they started asking for bits of my security number - first the 1st, 3rd and 6th digits, next the 2nd and 5th, and then the 1st, 8th and 9th ones. Luckily, I didn’t share a thing and just ended the call straight away.

I got a call saying it was from Metro Bank, so I called back using their number. When I picked the option to reach my local branch, there was no record of me there at all. Definitely a scam. They even said they were recording the call, which felt a bit dodgy.

If this number rings you, just hang up straight away. It's a scam trying to trick you. Don’t share any details or say if anything they say about you is true or not. Just tell them something like, "I’ll ring my bank’s 24-hour service from a different phone - they’ll know you’ve been trying to contact me, right?" Usually, they’ll just drop the call after that.

This number appears to be involved in a push scam. A bloke calling himself Adam, supposedly from Metro Bank, rang my daughter claiming there was an attempt to withdraw money from her account and told her to transfer her funds to a secure account. The caller ID on her phone even showed Metro Bank. When I looked up the number, it’s actually from the Wimbledon Bridge branch of Metro Bank. Metro Bank really needs to deal with this ASAP, as it’s clear they’re being impersonated. My daughter isn’t the only one to have lost a lot of money to this scam. Do NOT talk to anyone from this number, it’s definitely a scam!

I got a call from 02034028312 claiming to be the fraud team at Metro Bank. They said a charity account was frozen because someone in Manchester allegedly attempted to make two big transfers worth five figures each. They also mentioned transfers from my personal account to that charity had been tried. The caller knew some names, probably found online from the charity's site to make it sound legit. They told me to check my account and ring back before 5 pm. I ended up calling Metro Bank’s official helpline who confirmed everything was fine with my account.

When I called my bank about it, they told me it wasn’t them. The caller claimed there was some dodgy activity on my account, but it was clearly an attempt to trick me into handing over my bank info.

Got a call earlier claiming to be from Metro Bank, asking to speak with my partner. Since he wasn’t around, I offered to take a message, but then she said I could actually talk for him, which seemed odd as I’m not on the account. She mentioned a £4000 purchase at Rolex and asked if it was legit. I said no, and when she asked for details, I told her I’d ring back. That’s when she got quite insistent, saying it was a security and fraud line and I couldn't call back. She tried pushing me to confirm the transaction was genuine, but I just ended the call. Felt really suspicious to me.

I answered a call from someone claiming to be from Metro Bank, they knew loads of my bank info and sounded pretty legit at first. But then they got all pushy, telling me to move money out of my account. I told them I’d hang up and ring Metro Bank myself to make sure it was for real. After that, the caller tried hard to stop me doing that, which just didn’t sit right - no proper fraud team would ever behave like that!

I got a call from someone claiming I’d missed a payment for a trip, said they were from Metro Bank security. The woman sounded Welsh and as soon as I asked which branch held my account, she just ended the call. I could hear a telly on in the background, which felt off. Ended up reporting it to Thames Valley Police, the Met, and Metro Bank.

Honestly, these lot are complete fraudsters - best not to pick up or trust a word they say. They somehow got hold of my bank info and tried to log in. Thankfully, I got a weird feeling and ended the call straight away. They sound pretty clever, but seriously, just ignore and hang up!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Metro Bank about some dodgy transactions on my debit card. They asked me for my security number, but I wasn’t having any of it, especially when I told them I don’t even do online banking. I rang up Metro Bank’s fraud team myself and they confirmed it was a scam.

Got a call from this number earlier pretending to be from AIB GB Bank, saying there was an £848 transaction on our visa debit card and if it was legit. We told them no, then they said they'd cancel it but needed to ask some security questions. We said no thanks and that we'd ring back from our landline. When I called it back, the number actually came up as Metrobank, which felt very dodgy. Definitely looks like a scam. Don’t share any info and just block the number straight away.

Got a call from 02034028312 claiming to be from Metrobank, saying there was some dodgy activity on my Argos purchase. They even read out my account number - I don't know how they got that info. Then they wanted me to tell them how much was in each of my accounts but didn’t ask any security questions. The whole thing felt really off. When I phoned the bank afterwards, they said they hadn't made any calls to me. Bit suspicious if you ask me.
